Esports Operations & Competitive Strategy
Esports Executive
I've been inside the African CODM scene since 2020 — first embedded with other organizations, learning how competitive gaming actually works on this continent, then building my own. UPAGAINSTHELL began informally in 2022 and incorporated in 2024, but the through-line predates any paperwork: build the operational systems that let African talent compete at world level, then get out of the frame and let the results speak.
My name is not always on the jersey. My fingerprints are always on the result. A continental title. The first African qualification to the CODM World Championships in history. An unbeaten 2026 campaign that isn't finished yet. Different rosters, different partners — same operator.
Campaign 2025
The Coalition That Made History
The 2025 Carry1st Africa Cup campaign, run in coalition with B34R CL4N, was the third consecutive year of the same operational system — and the year it fully paid off. As strategy and operations lead, working alongside a tight core covering legal, compliance, performance, and player relations, I ran the machinery behind a dominant run to the continental title.
African Champions. And with the title, something no African team had ever done: qualification for the CODM World Championships. First from Africa, ever. The campaign converted visibility into commerce along the way — including a sponsorship secured with Mentos.
Proof the system works at the highest level there is.
Campaign 2026 — In progress
Chairman of the Unbeaten
UAHMT — UPAGAINSTHELL Monarchs TEF — is a three-organization alliance built for the Carry1st Africa Cup 2026, with a roster drawn from Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, the Philippines, and Mauritius. As Chairman, I own the commercial and operational architecture: the alliance structure itself, sponsorship strategy, player logistics across four countries, and the campaign's path through the bracket.
The team went through the East Africa stage unbeaten and was crowned East Africa Champions by Call of Duty: Mobile — a run that put the squad on Kenyan national television and in the country's sports press. The continental stage is next.
The Org
UPAGAINSTHELL — Building a Legacy Org
UAH launched informally in 2022 and incorporated in February 2024 as UPAGAINSTHELL Gaming, Entertainment & Lifestyle Ltd. The founding logic was brand-first: brands attract sponsors, and sponsors make teams sustainable.
The organization established the #1 female-only competitive esports team in West Africa — a roster that didn't just compete in its own lane but won the T3 bracket of the 2024 Cxmmunity CODM Cup outright against male teams, and reached the semifinals of the T2 Lotus Esports Tournament Season 1. On the main stage, UAH's competitive engine has powered the #1-ranked CODM team in Africa across 2025 and 2026.
Legacy is not a claim you make for yourself. It's a record other people keep for you.
Advisory — Since 2023
Both Sides of the Desk
Running teams is one half of the work. Since 2023 I've also worked the other side — as adviser and strategist to Carry1st, AER, and 10N8E.
For Carry1st, that has included broadcast production and on-desk analysis for the 2025 Africa Cup — the same tournament my own coalition went on to win. For AER, the role runs deeper: operational and recruitment lead, and strategic adviser on how the organization competes and grows.
Very few people in the African scene have operated the tournament, the broadcast, and the winning team. That vantage point is the asset.
"SeB is one of the most influential people in the CODM Africa scene. The history of this scene will not be complete without acknowledging the work people like him have put in — including building UAH into one of the legacy orgs that has stood the test of time. With more people like him, African esports will be at the top, inevitably."
Dominion Eromosele · Head of Growth — Carry1st
If you're a brand looking at African gaming audiences, a tournament operator who needs production and strategy, or an organization that wants to compete rather than just participate — I've worked all three sides of that table, at the highest level this continent has produced. Let's talk.
